Two Wells Primary School News Letter - Term 4, Week 9, 2021.
Principal's Message

Dear Families and Carers,
As COVID-19 slides into its third year, I would like to express my genuine thanks to the School Community for their continued support of restrictions this year. However, we did experience a degree of normality at this year's School Fete, which was very well supported by our Community. We held the Graduation Ceremony for our Year 6 and Year 7 students’ on Thursday night. Sadly we needed to modify the programme in line with SA Health. I know that the masks didn’t hide the joy of celebrating growth and appreciation of successful learning throughout their time at Two Wells Primary School. There was much to celebrate during the evening. I would like to wish all our leavers success in their new schools, we have students going to Tasmania, Riverbanks College, Xavier College and Gawler District College. Education is a journey and where ever you go your life is enriched by new experiences and friendships.
As this is our last newsletter for the year, I would like to express my appreciation to the teachers who have been part of our improvement journey this year and who are now leaving to explore new possibilities. Since their arrival at Two Wells Primary School, Honor Panoch, Fiona Reiman, Hongrui Chen, Holly Shaw, Morgan Curtis, Jessica Emmerson and Anthony Pacecca have contributed significantly to our school. Our collective achievements owe much to their professional growth and passion for learning. We wish all of our leavers the best for their teaching futures, and we look forward to welcoming new staff who will have the opportunity to continue the fine work of those mentioned above who have served our community well. My thanks also go out to all remaining staff who have contributed so much in 2021. Thank you for your immense commitment on behalf of our learners, and I look forward to working collaboratively with you in 2022.
With the support of our wonderful Governing Council we have allocated 10 classes, providing some space for new residents to our town but challenging our budget.

Throughout the year we have reflected on a number of issues including our current timetable and bus consultation. Both areas have been discussed by our Governing Council. As such our times will alter to support quality instruction in our classrooms and take into account face to face teaching time which includes supervised eating time. I would like to thank Maria Woodland, Angela Dickenson, Cindie Tucker and Meiles Manser for working with the team to ensure we have agreements and clear expectations.
The start of our day will continue to be 8.30am, however teaching will start at 8.40 am. We know many of our students are currently on site before 8.30am. The buses will arrive at the same time and we will continue to run breakfast club. The school day will finish at 3pm with bus students going to the buses at 2.55pm. We included supervised eating time for the long break following feedback from parents. Our Wellbeing survey highlighted the need for our school to work with families to develop understanding about good nutrition, as such we agree with the many parents who raised their concerns.
I hope you all have a wonderful break enriched by family and friends during the festive season. To our students rest up ready for the next stage in your learning journey.
Kind Regards
Rosie Gilsenan-Reed

Understanding your child/rens grades
Dear Families,
As you read your students report, you may have some questions around what the A-E grades mean. This helpful chart, which is available to you on the Department of Education web page, explains what each grade means. Getting a C grade means the student has demonstrated what is expected at their year level, not that they are struggling or only know 60% of what they should.
If you do have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with your child’s teacher or the front office.
Have a safe and Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all back in 2022!
Best Wishes,
Two Wells Primary FETE
We would like to thank our community for attending our School Fete on Friday. This was our second event this year and is reflective of uncertain times. I would like to thank Staff, Parents and Friends, and Governing Council for their support. We were particularly impressed by the range of events designed by our children, the Art gallery which show cased exceptional examples of the quality work created by our students, the individually wrapped morning teas, the behaviour of our students and the passion displayed by our Parents and Friends fund raising committee.
We would also like to send thanks to Ashton Chambers and the members at the Uniting Church for their support for morning tea.
Total funds raised throughout the course of the event can be seen below.
Parents and Friends Raffle made $1580.00
The Fete made $ 2081.00
All monies raised will be going towards our Community Hub where we can share many more special moments with families.
