Principal's Message

Dear Families,
It was great to see so many families at school last Friday for our sports day, we were delighted with the participation in a fun packed day. Thanks to Trish for organising the Cocobean Coffee van and the Spud Man who provided great food and coffee.
The atmosphere was wonderful, we admired the support from each team and the enthusiastic leadership of our captains.
I would like to thank the staff for their energy and organisation, many came to school early to make sure all the events were set up ready to start the day, the team behind the day included Jana, Montanna and Rosie S. Much planning goes into the event with staff working together to ensure everyone has a good time, ensuring a memorable community event. Of course, a special mention goes to Gordon our grounds person.
Thank you to parents and students who attended our parent meetings this week, this is a fabulous opportunity to reflect on your child's progress as we move towards reports at the end of term.
I received many positive comments from parents about the work of our teachers and how much the community appreciates their passion and professionalism. I would like to thank the staff for their time over the last three nights and the preparation required before these meetings.
Breakfast Club: A special thank you to Brett Hogan who has donated boxes of delicious fruit to our breakfast club.
Mother’s Day: Thanks to our Parents and Friends who organised a great Mother’s Day stall last Thursday, we appreciate your ongoing support.

Deputy Principal's Message

Hello,
I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself as the Deputy Principal here at Two Wells Primary School. I've been given a fantastic opportunity to work and share the learning journey with you all and very much look forward to creating those successful moments.
I was born in Blackpool, England and migrated to Australia 2011. I have a huge passion for inclusion and student focused learning, I will endeavour to bring enjoyment and fun to every learner with a strong sense of autonomy and student voice.
I appreciate school can generate a wide variety of emotions for our young learners so being able to work together will be a huge focus, I have an open-door policy, so I encourage you to share and express your thoughts so that it will give us a solid foundation for success.
I wish everyone all the best for the remainder of the year.
Thank you
Darrell Avery
Autism Inclusive Teacher-Miss Rosie

Many families would be aware that last year the State Government announced funding for all schools to train a current staff member in formal learning to promote best practices within schools to meet the needs of students with Autism.
I am pleased to be our Autism Inclusion Teacher and will work closely with the Junior Primary Teachers, focusing on effective strategies for engagement.
In Term One, I attended training and development to understand further evidence-based inclusive practices for working with autistic children and their families. I will use this to build the capacity of all staff across our school.
Kind Regards,
Rosie Sarakinis
Well-Being & Engagement Leader

DayMap Update

Thank you to all the families who have logged on to the Daymap Portal and book in for the Parent/ Teacher Interviews.
We will be sending out emails to all those families that have yet to sign in to Daymap.
We will be adding reports to the portal this term.
Some families have had trouble with the link not coming up in their emails. I have contacted Daymap support and they have said to look at your email settings.
- If it isn't showing up in your email as a clickable link, it is likely because of settings on your email program or email account. It's likely a setting that allows or shows HTML in emails needs to be turned on.
- Unfortunately, if you are unable to fix the settings then you will need to copy and paste the URL into a Web Browser address bar and navigate to the page that way.
- If you have not received an email to log in to Daymap (please check spam and junk mail folders), then contact the school and check our email address is correct. Once checked, allow 24 hours for the changes to go through and we will email you out a new reset password email.
- Those who have the portal can now send through absence notices.

YASTSA Students Adelaide Uni Visit
On Monday the 8th of May the Young Aboriginal STEM Thinkers of South Australia (YASTSA) students attending their next excursion to Adelaide Uni. After a trip on the train and a walk down to the University we arrived ready for the day.
During the visit the students got to experience different aspect of the Uni. Our first visit was to the biology lab where the YASTSA team had the chance to see what it is like to use a microscope to look at Insects and Bugs underneath one.
Annika enjoyed using the microscope to see what the insects looked like up close. After a recess break the students where taken to see the engineering lab and got to see what a wind tunnels looks like, and heard about how it is used to predict what the aerodynamics of different objects are, we then went to the flight simulator where Connor got to have a go at flying in a simulated aeroplane.
After lunch it was a tour of the University and listening to what the Uni has to offer for students if they wish to study. On Tuesday the students met with Leonne our ACEO and Maria to continue working on their presentation and started to trial their hands-on activity.

Home is the Key

On Tuesday 16 May 2023 the Lovett family had their dedication ceremony of their new house in Two Wells.
Steff and Tamara went on behalf of the school to celebrate with Connor, Declan and Evie-lee. The boys are very excited about their next chapter of creating new memories in their brand new home together.

THE TWINKLING

It’s only May, what are we doing talking about Christmas light displays now?? Exactly, it’s May and soon it will be Christmas already – in the blink of an eye as it were.
So, to clarify any confusion regarding the Twinkling ………. The Twinkling is a Light Display Competition open to anyone in the Adelaide Plains Council area – individuals, businesses and organisations alike. It is now proudly brought to you by the Plains Community Group – Participate, Celebrate, Gravitate together.
Due to overwhelming support from our sponsors, this year the competition will be FREE.
The Twinkling brings cheer and joy to all – brightens the area, attracts people to our townships and gets us all interacting positively with our neighbours.
Additionally, there is an opportunity to win monetary prizes in 8 categories - $100, $50 & $25 in each category. Plus, there is always the Early-Bird business winner – the business that has their whole display up and lit first - $25. Also depending on availability of funds there may even be an overarching winner!!
So start thinking creatively about how to display your Christmas lights – enter on the Twinkling Facebook page.
