Principal and Deputy Principal Welcome
A new year, we welcome our new students and families into the community. We look forward to building those memories and experiences for students starting their school journey, students transitioning through the years and preparing our students and families moving into high school at the end of the year.
Staffing 2024
The contributions of many new staff across various roles have been an absolute joy to witness in the opening weeks of the year as staff readied TWPS to welcome students. Rivalling this highlight has been the welcoming, selfless, and caring way that continuing staff have embraced new colleagues to ensure they are most comfortable and prepared for students.
As families of TWPS, you will have already witnessed the year’s theme in motion as staff model their growth together, into the new era of TWPS.
I would like to formally welcome:
- Shanice Robbins into our year 5/6 class, Shanice comes to TWPS with a huge arsenal of experience around Positive Behaviours for Learning, Curriculum planning and design and restorative practices. Welcome Shanice!
- Nicole Lam joins us in her 2nd year of teaching after completing her 1st year in Port Pirie. Nicole is part of our early years team in the Junior Primary and will be our Reception Teacher. Nicole brings a huge passion for teaching and learning to ensure your children experience the most wonderful start of their schooling journey. Welcome to Nicole!
- Kulwinder Kaur joins us as a new graduate starting her teaching career which we are extremely excited about. Kulwinder's passion and drive for education and ensuring her students are at the centre is astonishing. Kulwinder will team up with Nicole in the Junior Primary and will also be our Reception Teacher. Welcome Kulwinder!

Curriculum and Pedagogical Leader Welcome
Welcome to the beginning of 2024!
The teachers and support staff have done an amazing job setting up the classrooms and preparing for the year to ensure a smooth transition back to school. We are pleased to see all our returning students and families.
My role at the school is now focused on curriculum and coaching. I look forward to working closely with staff and students. A strong focus this term is on expectations and routines in the classroom. All classrooms have had the opportunity for relationships to be formed and set the scene for a positive, productive and happy year where all students feel included and valued.
Research shows that investing in time in establishing a positive and supportive classroom culture, developing strong relationships with students, establishing a clear purpose within the classroom, establishing values, routines and ways of behaving and developing students’ responsibility for their own learning and behaviour can positively impact student achievement.

From the lens of our students
Students were exploring core school values to embed within their classrooms that they believe have importance to them and others.
"When people follow instrcutions they might look like a smart kid, and that's when other kids start following instructions too.
When people are learning from their mistakes, they are getting better at their work and are learning too.
When people are making A choices it means they are doing what they are asked and listening to the teacher.
Listen and help others to be a good friend to them".
Year 4 student Katey James
Parent Induction session
Dear Families,
We want to offer a parent induction session to reiterate the routines and expectations at TWPS. We encourage all parents to attend. Please join us in the staffroom on Tuesday from 8.45 am to 9.30 am.
We will be discussing, Schoolzine and how to download the app, whole school policies, whole school events and any questions you may have about the school.
We look forward to building solid relationships with you and your child during the beginning of their schooling years to make primary school seamless and stress-free for parents and children.
Kind regards,

Staff/Disabled Carpark
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are sending out a gentle reminder that our staff/disabled carpark is a NO ENTRY zone - only allowing staff, buses and disability parking permit holders to enter. We please ask that no parents are entering to drop off/ pick up their child, unless they require a disabled space. We have families with children that require those spaces at drop off/ pick up times, so please be understanding of this.
As a school community, we need to ensure we are looking after students, families, staff and ourselves. We are here to support you, and most importatly - keep you safe.
If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.
ICT agreements
Dear Parents/caregivers,
A letter has gone home this week to students regrding our ICT agreement forms.
This is simply a consent form for devices to be used with your children within the classroom for their learning.
Read the form carefully, and if you have any questions or queries, phone us on 8520 2277 - please don't hesitate to ask, we are here to support.
