A message from our Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome back to term 3! We are over halfway through the year and even though we have had some cold mornings and rainy days, the first signs of the warmer weather are starting to appear. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the families who participated in the 3-Way Connection Conversations last week. It was truly wonderful to see families, staff, and students working together to achieve results in all areas at school. Your involvement and support are invaluable to our community.

We are delighted to welcome our new families who have joined us this term. We had 15 Term 3 Reception starters and several other children joining us in different year levels. It has been a joy to see their wonderful, positive start to school, and we look forward to witnessing their growth and achievements in the coming months.

This term promises to be filled with exciting events. One highlight is our Grandparents/Special Person's Morning Tea on Friday, 15 August. This will be a well-earned celebration for family members who are special to our children. If you plan to attend, please notify the class teacher on Seesaw for catering purposes, due to spaces we need to cap attendance at two visitors per family. The leadership team look forward to seeing you there!

We have also included an updated version of the term planner, so you can organise your calendar for other important events. Don't forget to join us for the Book Week Parade on Thursday August 21st, if you have time. Parents are welcome to join us on the oval at 9am to walk with the children through the town’s main street. If you can’t make it to the oval, we hope to see you lining the street as our wonderful students parade past. In the event that the weather is not suitable for our walk, our children will parade for each other in the gym. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, this will be a staff and student only event, so let’s hope for a rain free day!

Confirmation of enrolment letters for new school starters in term 1 2026, have already been sent to our families that have registered your interest. If you know a family that is considering enrolling at Two Wells Primary School, please ask them to contact us on 8520 2277 so we add them to our list.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. We look forward to a successful and enjoyable term ahead.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Brumby

World Leaders Day

On Tuesday, August 5th Two Wells primary students and staff celebrated our leadership team: Kirsty Brumby, Darrell Avery and Debra Paget for World Leaders Day.

We surprised out leaders with an assembly in their honour, showering them with gifts, positive affirmations and a very entertaining video made by Mr Ferris and Room 13, as well as a morning tea at recess time.

During lunch students went on a "Where's Wally" hunt, to find as many faces of Mrs Brumby, Mr Avery and Ms Paget hidden throughout the school.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our leadership staff for their unwavering dedication. Their efforts in creating a supportive and inclusive environment are truly commendable. Whether it's through strategic planning, mentoring, or simply being a source of encouragement, their impact is felt throughout our school community.

Camp Young Aboriginal STEM Thinkers

In Term 2 Week 6, June 10th to 13th the Young Aboriginal STEM Thinkers of South Australia (YASTSA) Team of Emily Aston, Braxx Stanley and Chad May went to Wirraway Homestead and Horse stay. The camp allowed the Two Wells YASATA team to meet up and plan the STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress with the other YASTSA schools from around South Australia.

On the first day after unpacking and listening to the leaders Emily and Braxx went to their first activity of Horse riding, care and maintenance, while Chad undertook a scavenger hunt. Our next activity was shelter building, where Braxx thought his shelter was waterproof and then got soaked when water was tipped on the shelter he was laying in. Our final activity for the first day was sheep herding, we found the sheep were annoying and didn’t do as we wanted all except for Luke the sheep, who was the ‘G’.

Day 2 of the camp was an early start with a 6:30am wake up and then on to the bus to Adelaide Uni for a day of activities involving building cranes, painting our hands to have it act like germs and high fiving everyone to see how far germs are spread, and a tour of the campus.

Day 3 of camp we stayed at the homestead and had a public speaking workshop on KFC, mainly about the amazing mouthwatering zinger box with Braxx and Chad starting the story. We also decided on the shirt colours and gave a brief description of what our workshop was about. In the afternoon we tried our hand at archery, with one team shooting at another in a game of archery tag with Chad and Braxx both receiving hits to the "no-no square".

On the final day before getting on the bus we went on a bush walk where we saw the labor tree, this was a tree that Aboriginal Women used to have their babies in, making it a great part to see how our early ancestors gave birth and lived, to compare it to today.

Overall, Braxx, Chad and Emily had a great time, made new friends, slept very little and loved Luke the sheep.

Book Week Parade

Thursday, August 21st (week 5) will be the TWPS 2025 book week parade!

The theme for this year is "Book an Adventure" and students are encouraged to dress up, either according to the theme or as another character from their favourite stories.

We will be doing our annual parade from school to the main street and back. Followed by our individual class parades on the oval.

Families are welcome to join us from 9am meeting on the oval or down the street cheering us on!

In the unfortunate event of rain, the street parade will be cancelled, and an alternative event will take place in the gym. Due to space, this will be students and staff only.

Please return permission slips for the town walk back to school by Thursday, August 14th.

Book Week- Treasure Hunt Performance

Following our Book week parade, on Friday, August 22nd (week 5) Perform Education will be visiting TWPS for their performance of Treasure Hunt!

Students will be immersed into a highly interactive, educational musical adventure celebrating the Children’s Book Week® 2025 theme (Book an Adventure) and incorporating a selection of the CBCA 2025 Shortlisted Books. The musical will send students of all ages on a treasure hunt exploring themes of sustainability and our relationship with the natural environment, as well as celebrating how books and reading create understanding and bring people of different backgrounds together.

The performance will be held at Two Wells Primary School and there will be a small cost of $5.00 Inc. GST. Payments can be made via the QKR app (Treasure Hunt) or at the front office.

Please have consent forms returned to school by Friday, August 15th.

Premier's Reading Challenge

We have had 102 students (40%) complete the Premiers Reading Challenge thus far.

PRC closes Friday, Week 7 and it would be amazing to have 100% of students completing the challenge. Most students have been working on the challenge at school during class reading and library times since Term 1; but reading at home to complete the challenge is also very welcomed.

Certificates and medals will be handed out in term 4 for those that finish the challenge, as well as a surprise treat!

Happy Reading!

Sun Protection

Just a friendly reminder that we are a "No hat, No play" school all year round. It is important for students to wear hats out in the yard to protect themselves from weather, but also to comply with the schools' expectations and guidelines.

TWPS hats can be purchased from the front office for $7.00 Inc. GST.

We appreciate your support.
